Dental Implants

Implant supported restorations have become the standard of care for replacement of missing teeth. They can provide a firm basis of occlusion for people missing one tooth or those that are completely edentulous.
Implants have advanced dentistry and patient’s way of life tremendously. Dentures can now remain stable without adhesive. Patients with removable prostheses can maintain a normal diet, including hard foods. Single or multiple missing teeth can be easily maintained. Flossing can be done without problems.
An implant can look and function like a natural tooth. Losing teeth will cause a loss of bony support. Teeth and implants solely maintain this bone. Sometimes an implant may be placed the same day as extractions, other times there are procedures to maintain or rebuild the bone so one can be placed in the future. In addition, select cases can have teeth inserted at the time of implant placement. This will be decided by your oral surgeon and dentist.
At Oral Surgery Associates, we work closely with your dentist in creating a great, natural looking result. It is the team of a surgeon and a restoring dentist that enable this. Both the placement of the implant and the crown or other restoration placed on the implant are equally important.
The Oral Surgeon will discuss all your options with you at your visit. Feel free to ask any questions or state any concerns that arise. We are very interested in your comfort.
